How much does Alpha Kappa Psi cost?
The cost during your pledge semester is $174 due to onetime initiation fees. After becoming a member the cost of dues per semester is $110, making joining Alpha Kappa Psi much more affordable than most social fraternities and sororities which average around $1,600 to $1,800 for the first year you’re a member.
Do I have to be a Business major to rush?
No. While AKPsi is a professional business fraternity, we are very open-minded and are receptive to students from all major programs. Our diverse ranks include brothers in engineering, mathematics, politics, language and just about every other major program.
What kind of people is Alpha Kappa Psi looking for?
Our ideal rushes are highly motivated, passionate, intelligent candidates with an interest in professional development as well as being involved with fellow members, we are professional,but we are also a brotherhood. We look for individuals who have had academic success in the past, but also for those who possess the potential to be leaders in the future. Most importantly, we look for individuals who have desire to learn from current brothers and contribute back to the brotherhood.
What is the rush process?
The rush process is a set of events held by Alpha Kappa Psi over a week long period at the beginning of each semester. Our rush objectives are to educate prospective brothers about our fraternity and learn more about the candidates for our incoming pledge class. The rush process includes information sessions (of which you must attend one) and social events for you to get to know us and vice versa.
Can I pledge another fraternity/sorority in addition to Alpha Kappa Psi?
Yes. You are welcome to pledge other fraternities/sororities as long as they are not business oriented.
Do you have any recommendations for rushing or pledging?
Coming to one information session is mandatory, if you have a time conflict please e-mail akpsi.pr@gmail.com. All other events are not mandatory, but come to as many as you can to meet as many brothers as you can! Don’t be afraid to ask brothers any questions you may have. Be yourself, and make an effort to get to know the brothers, and fellow potential pledges!
If you receive a bid and begin the pledge process, come in with the mindset to be involved in all aspects of the fraternity, from professional to service to social. Being hyped about everything is how you form an unbeatable brotherhood!
